In this session we will focus on the Inform and Operate phases of the FinOps methodology – using built-in Azure tools. Inform – we will explore the creation of meaningful dashboards for different stakeholders, cost allocation by utilizing Tags and Policies, managing cloud consumption Budgets, and best practices for Cost Alerts. Operate – we will explore the identification of Cost Optimization opportunities and discuss the differences between Rate Optimization and Usage Optimization. If time permits – we will dive into the differences between the main two Rate Optimization options (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans). The session will include live demonstrations and Q&A.
